It is close to Victoria square. They have a lot of extra activities, cinema, concerts, book launches, traditional food fairs. The very beautiful building donated especially for the museum includes a restaurant, shop, bookshop, library and a small wooden church from Maramures in the back yard. the building was The communist party museum until 1993.
This museum is probably most appreciated by natives because they would better understand it. However is very well organized, has great historic houses, and lots of charm and character.
Tennis courts, swimming pools and farmer's market in the area as well. The majestic Triumph Arch is nearby.
In mid October 2016 a group of us walked up to the museum after our hotel concierge gave us directions only to find the place covered in scaffolding and workers telling us that it's closed inside as well so check before going.

An extensive collection of items from all around the country, arranged in a nice fashion but the museum is stuck a little too much in the past. Interesting visit especially to have a possibility to understand the evolution of the life in the country. The Museum was opened in a beautiful bulding, near a beautiful park in the residential area of Bucharest. Visit to be included in a day dedicated to a long wald in the area.
