The church in Puerto Varas sits on the hill at the edge of the town centre. The exterior is clad with white painted metal sheets and the red roof acts as a lovely contrast. I do recommend visiting this monumental church. Built on early 1900's, it's a beautiful example of colonial southern architecture in Chile. You can attend to mass on saturdays and sundays (10 - 12 - 20 hrs.). Great place to take pictures of the beautiful blue sky and Puerto Varas.
We visited this morning. This church reminds you of churches in Germany, but there it is in the Lake District of Chile! Very attractive interior and stands out from the neighbourhood like a beacon. Lovely.
Imposing church with an unexpected colorful interior - whoever is interested in churches will have a field day with all the different churches that can be found from Puerto Varas all the way down to Castro in Chiloe!
