If you are a traveler that prefers to walk everywhere, be careful of the pushy panhandlers and tour bus companies that may try to harass you on the streets near the museum. They are harmless, but also very persuasive!

I loved wandering around this very informative museum. There were sections on insects, jade from Mayan times, stamps and also slavery in Belize. This was accompanied by a thought provoking reminder that slavery still exists today.

If you in Belize City & let's face it there isn't much to see. This museum is a great, especially the downstairs area on the history of Belize.
