I would not suggest driving hours out of your way to visit the Gorge, but it certainly is worth a visit as part of a total travel plan. The structure is impressive and the visitor's center offers beautiful overlooks of the north-flowing river in Fayetteville.

I have stopped here every time I travel through the area. The views are stunning and the bridge is a sight to behold. There are picnic areas and restrooms available. You do have to walk a little bit, but it is well worth it.

There is so much to do around the New River Gorge National River. The NPS always does a great job everywhere it goes, and this area is no exception. Make sure to check out either of the year round visitors centers for all the information...更多
This spot is easily missed as it is one way in and one way out and just off the beaten path. Don't miss it. Well worth the drive and effort. We spent hours here and had lunch along the river, looking at the river, falls...更多
Stopped here spur of the moment while on way south. Beautiful view of River Gorge and of bridge. Exhibit area was very interesting and showed a lot about local history and geography. Well worth the time to stop and visit.
