This place is in the heart of the city beautiful huge square with many vendors around for shopping eating etc. You can meet many local Cuban people here just walking around enjoying the view etc. I have been to Holguin many times and yes this is the place to visit, statues are stunning, food is great. Just a pleasure to...
this park is the heart of the city, a great meeting place for large groups I find it is better to go early in the day or late afternoon/night during the day with the tropical sun their seat can get pretty hot, seems that was recently renovated so looks pretty good for Cuba
Lots of little stores and places to get a drink all around the square, you're going to need it because the sun glares off the white stone like a magnifying glass and on a very hot day you could feel like an egg meeting a frying pan.A few trees for shade but usually they're all taken.
Very busy area with lots of people accessing the internet, chatting or taking a break. Most of the interesting buildings are around the square or not far away. Very similar to many city squares in Cuba, certainly not the best.
Being refurbished when we visited but an interesting mix of architecture surrounding the square and a chance to see the somewhat random nature of Cuban retailing. Good for people-watching and car-spotting.
