Whether you're Polish or not, Catholic or not, this shrine -which is located roughly halfway between Warsaw and Krakow - is truly a MUST-SEE. Before getting to this site that sits atop a hill, I highly suggest you research "The Black Madonna" and why this pilgrimage site is so important to Poland that its citizens will passionately make days-long journeys... 更多

The bus ride lasts around 2 hours and a half, but if you prefer train, the tickets for 40... 更多
This is an important destination for Pilgrims from all over the world! We were blessed to have this opportunity for prayer and contemplation in this historic monastery.
While touring Poland with a tour group we stopped to see the Black Madonna. It is a beautiful site within a beautiful church and well worth a visit there. I usually never give excellent reviews but I really felt this warranted it.

Tourists walk around the outside of the congregation and clergy during the service and I have never felt so awkward in my life, so much so I rushed through barely even taking notice of The Black Madonna. Personally I found... 更多
Quite a beautiful and impressive place. The main purpose of visiting the monastery is to visit the ancient icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa, the patron of Poland. A very spiritual and enlightening experience for all, especially for the faithful. Czestochowa is only one hour and half by bus from Kraków.
This is one of Poland's holiest places of pilgrimage. The Black Madonna has been venerated here for centuries. What often stuns or shocks visitors who are not used to such pilgrimage sites is the apparent chaos and lack of reverence. It is something to be prepared for, I certainly thought that the first time I came. However, I soon realised... 更多
We have been wanting to come here for many years and it did not disappoint. The Mass was such a spiritual experience and a must for all Catholics. Maybe a little bit too much pomp and ceremony but it didn't detract from the overall wonderful feeling.
