Hope Cottage is set up as a historic memorial to the many facets of life on Kangaroo Island since the days of early settlement. Each room of the house, and each shed is thematically filled with collectables from a bygone era. Set aside a couple...更多
Excellent history teller working as a staff member. We really enjoyed listening your stories about Matthew Flinders, Joseph and his family...Thank you.

Definitely one of the finest rural museums in Australia. The blend of farming and sea culture displays add to the charm of this 160 years old cottage. The original Chance Brothers lens on the restored lighthouse is worth the visit alone.
A great cottage maintained as it would have been lived in when built. There is much more on the grounds - from house/kero powered farming implements, through to old tractors, cars, a lighthouse (!), clothing, etc., etc.
