A truly fascinating part of Newcastle's history, the lock up has a number of immaculately kept former prison rooms. The exhibitions held there are also worth going for alone.

The Lock-Up has revolving exhibits and are interesting as they relate to the culture, history, or a current topic. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys are and the venue itself is engaging as it served a lockup.
Cool transformation into a modern art gallery. I've never been in a prison, so that was sombering. Some of the exhibits are a bit far-out and political, but for free is an interesting stop for sight-seeing. Next door, sharing a door is an unusual artsy...更多
