My daughter, grand-children (boys of 3 and 7) and myself from the UK all enjoyed this museums. There was plenty of interaction, and made history very accessible for the children. Sadly I remembered some of the exhibits.
This volunteer run museum gave our family (3 generations - including a 6 and 7 year old) a heap of fun on a wet day. Right from making ticker-tap with their names at the front door to the telephones you could use to ring other parts of the museum. There was lots of interactive displays and we made the most... 更多
It was a real treat to visit this Museum. It was almost a reliving of my childhood days and it also brought back memories of visits to my dear grandparents. The elderly volunteer at the reception desk took me and my granddaughter on a short and informative verbal tour of what the museum offers. He specially briefed my granddaughter on... 更多
Called in mid week during the school holidays. Warmly welcomed by the volunteer at the front desk. As it was a quiet day he joined me after 15 minutes. He then walked me around the exhibits for the next hour or so. I loved his passion and appreciated his wealth of knowledge about the exhibits and New Plymouth history.
We visited on a Saturday and we're the only people there so it was quite surreal. A collection of all sorts, we enjoyed reminiscing as we viewed the displays... A really cheap outing that is a credit to the volunteers who maintain and man it.
This Museum is most definitely worth a visit. It has many interactive displays, which are fun for adults and children alike to play with. Alongside this is the educational element and the large range of items on display that take you back in time to another era. The staff are incredibly friendly and passionate about the Museum and are helpful... 更多
It wasn't bad but a bit more information on signage would be good. An example was we found an area of wreckage from a plane that was found 30 years after the crash but no information as to where it took off from, crashed, why it crashed or what bits we were looking at and if there were any fatalities.... 更多
A surprising amount of displays and information. The printing machines, the telephone exchange, post office, farm equipment, the plane, and all other assorted odds and information, just fantastic, and at the minimal charge of $7 per adult, a very affordable way to spend an afternoon.
