We were lucky enough to enjoy a tour of this stunning gallery- without a guide I'm sure you would miss out on so much information. Our guide was knowledgable , articulate & entertaining, making it an enjoyable morning.

We went to an exhibition held at the Len Lye Centre of a New Zealand artist who specialised in "Movement" Art and the gallery did a fantastic job in its display including an easy to follow movie of his work.
Its a very modern structure, the bare expanses of concrete walls inside seem like the inside of a building under construction.
The exhibition we saw was bizarre, scaffolding poles, buckets of sand, plastic oranges on shelves, and radios playing white noise...the explanation of it left...更多
Loved the exterior of this building and the way it would change based on the weather. Modern Art is not really my thing, so the exterior was of more interest to me then the interior contents. But the kinetic works of Len Lye are beautiful...更多
We took our daughter out to the GBG since she is a huge art enthusiast. Some of the things we saw were fascinating that's for sure, but to say we saw beautiful art would be a lie... I guess beauty is in the eye of...更多
Gallery is located in the central business district. It is an asset to the city. Hidden gem. Needs more marketing by the city. Well worth a visit .
Hint: parking is an issue, try and walk to it from coastal walkway. Take your time.

Thought to this was a stunning piece of architecture. It's a pity the that the exhibits are somewhat underwellming. Free entry so can't complain about value for money.Worth spending half hour of your time.
