We had a stroll around Ohinemutu and admired the beautiful church and felt we had connected with a beautiful part of our cultural heritage. A good free option for a casual stroll from the lakefront.

This was what gave the illusion that Jesus was walking on water. Back in the day it was different and better (or so my dad says) still from the back of the church and at the right angel you can recreate that visual.
Ohinemutu village is an existing Maori village, you can either join a guided tour or walk by yourself leisurely. But do keep to the pavement and not wander into private compounds. There is a church, craftshop and along the way you can see hot springs...更多
