This place is wonderful! I can't believe all the effort that went into the beautiful curation. Definitely worth the drive and the entrance fee.
When we were here, drought had been very hard on the gardens and the first impression wasn't as good as we hoped. Still, only 20 minutes off the highway, it was absolutely worth the drive. If you love gardens, gardening and architecture, you MUST visit! Your stroll will take you from small to large, exquisite gardens with statuary, ponds and other accents to enhance the views! There was even a hedge maze! Grab your camera and enjoy the scents, sights and sounds and try their goodies at their Tea Room!
I had a friend visiting who is an avid gardener. We took the tour offered by the owner. The grounds are beautiful, lots to see even a lovely maze. You will need walking shoes for the tour. I was there for a few hours.
I spent an hour strolling through the grounds. They are ambitious in what they are doing here. Don't expect weed free beds or immaculate planting beds. I will definitely go back to see it in another season.
