Odzun church is a bit off the main sights but clearly worth a visit. During my trip through Armenia it was one of the highlights. The deviation of the blocked road between Vanadzor and Alaverdi leads through the village. The church has its fundaments built from the 4th century and is in general a very beautiful architectonic monument. I was... 更多
The most exciting thing is the road to reach it. First: this is the first road that is in very good condition. Second: the strong slope on a superb scenery. The church by itself is nothing so exciting. only a few interesting remains.
The church is located in Lori Province which is the greenest place in Armenia. The Monastery is very beautiful and unique. But location is just great. I have visited the place for couple of hours but it is a great idea to have an overnight (there are some guesthouses nearby).
Odzun is a major and historic village in the Lori Province of Armenia. It is situated on a plateau above the left bank of the Debed river gorge, about a thousand metres above the Yerevan–Tiblisi highway, a few kilometres south of the town of Alaverdi. It is famous for the 5-7th century Odzun Church, one of the finest Armenian basilicas... 更多

A lovely church of IV-V cent., restored recently, but not completely. In the territory of village Odzun, There is a funeral monument near the church, which is quire rare (only 2 places in Armenia as I know). There is also a cool view from the village to the canyon of the river Debed. A must see place if you're traveling... 更多
The priest of the church will tell you all about everything. He speaks very good English. In that village there is also a Snake mountain and another lovely church to go. Odzun you must see!
Great place. Unspoilt and very beautiful, in a great setting with a very peaceful feeling. Not at all touristy, just an authentic site still in use for its original prupose
Maybe im too ignorant or narrow-minded but this church as almost every church that i visited around Armenia and Georgia is not so attractive. Location is wonderful cause its into a small village located on a big plateau. Inside the church is nothing special. As every church of Caucasus is more famous for the religious and historical importance than for... 更多
