I love in Clonmel so have been visiting Careys Castle for nearly 30yrs. I love going up there. Great place to walk dogs or walk a few trails. Kids will have a good time wandering the forest. Great views up there and good pics to take.
Having grown up in the area, my friends and myself have frequented Carey's Castle quite a lot. There are great walks around here ranging from the short walk through the woods down to the castle, to hiking trails and cycle trails going over the Comeragh mountains. While Carey's castle is on the small side as far as castles go it is a wonderful spot to visit with a lovely walk through the woods. There are a lot of little places to explore and no area is off limits.

I like to go there to relax. Good walk, quite and sound of flowing stream makes me calm. Walk with gogs, strol with kids or date. Up to you...

Lovely looped walk, nice and easy for families. Great to bring the dog or have a picnic. It's a short walk, but you can explore off trail and near the stream. Lots of fun, kids love exploring the castle ruins.
