We had a lovely walk around the garden of Europe. The main thing we thought about it was "why". Don't get me wrong, the gardens are lovely and have interesting sculptures and memorials, but Listowel is not what one thinks of when imagining Europe.
Worth a visit for the novelty alone
Located in a corner off the town park and close to the River Feale the garden of Europe is composed of 12 sections representing the twelve countries that initially composed the EU.
The gardens are made up of more than 3000 trees and shrubs.

This garden is hidden inside the town park. It is a nice peaceful spot and has a fine John B. Keane memorial and a memorial to the holocaust. Nicely laid out and maintained, it's worth a visit.
