The tour guide shared the interesting history of the cathedral. One section was quite old when a contest was promoted to incorporate both old and new design. We had an opportunity to go inside. We were speechless that they were having a teacher's award ceremony in a religious setting. The cathedral was smaller than it looked on the outside; partially... 更多
As it was a rainy day we decided to go to Truro Cathedral, what a beautiful place. A triumph to Victoria Architecture, as cathedrals go it is not very old. It sits on the site of an earlier parish church St Mary. It is a must to go to if you are in the area, try to get there for... 更多
We had not planned to visit the Cathedral but when saw it was open decided to pay it a visit. They say entry is free but we were asked whether we would like to buy a guide book for 3GBP which we did as it benefits the upkeep of such an awe inspiring building. Did not feel coerced to buy... 更多

Moreover, the building has a very slight curve in it because they were not allowed... 更多
Impressive in its construction and serenity Truro Cathedral is Victorian as you can see once you get close. It's a little bit too machined and lacks the mellowness of a true English Gothic cathedral. Nonetheless its height, internal elegance and grandeur make it worth a visit. The carvings behind the altar are particularly noteworthy. When we visited the organist was... 更多
