We were shown this 2 years ago when were visiting for the first time and then went back this year for a second time. great place to walk around and image what life was like and very little crowd and on out own time. A hidden gem.
There are many ancient sites in Italy, and many are highly commercialized and crowded (see Pompei). Saepinum is at the other extreme: located in a rural area, removed form congested city traffic (see Pompei). You are free to take your time and enjoy a self-guided tour of authentic ruins.
Back in time is how you feel when you visit this amazing place to think that this was a functioning town during the roman ruling ,only problem is that there is not much information available, unless you are lucky enough to find a local that has some knowledge on this subject. Very good kept spot of Roman times. Big and nice area, free to visit; nothing extremely impressive, but very nice to see all the remains. with parking spot (pay).
