Came across this fabulous little place after a long walk in the surrounding woods! Staff are extremely friendly & accommodating, even bringing water out for the dogs. The amenities were also spotlessly clean. Only had an ice cream this time, but all the food we saw looked amazing... will definitely be going back.
Had a lovely time at the Hopewell Colliery. The weather was inclement and my mind immediately jumped to here. We all really wanted to have another look, as our last visit was a good few years ago and we had also heard that they had a wonderful new café. My experience was fantastic, our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and... 更多
There is a lovely new cafe opened at Hopewell colliery. Completely refurbished to a very high standard. Very nice coffee shop in the heart of The Forest of Dean. I only had coffee and a cheese scone but will definitely be back very soon for a full meal. Everything looks really good.
Really Good Place to Visit The Staff Are Friendly and You Feel Welcome We had a tour With Rich and he was entertaining and informative
Had a really nice time, tour guide was lovely, wasn't expecting to find such an interesting and unusual place on this trip. Food was good, was just £6.5 for tour and very interesting.
Today we enjoyed half a day at this unique historic place. The new cafe gave us a delicious lunch, after which we had an interesting guided walk through a mine shaft dug deep into the hillside. A great family outing!

We started at the lamp room and were kitted out with helmets and lamps. We were given a background to mining customs in the Forest of Dean and the rights... 更多
Experience black as you have never experienced it before. Travel back thousands of years. Travel back millions of years. You get fully kitted out and go to the pit entrance to start your tour which is a mix of horrible histories and time team. It's terrific.
We happened across this Colliery when looking for something else. Firstly while waiting for our tour to start we partook in refreshments in the cafe. Lovely homemade broccoli soup and my partner had homemade caramel shortbread - both much enjoyed in a clean well run establishment, Then we had our tour which we were lucky in that we were the... 更多
This place was fantastic! Ritchie was knowledgable, interactive, an amazing guide and answered any questions we had The mine itself was really fascinating and really made you realise what it would be like as a miner. If your in the area make sure you fit this in
