We love this garden but today- very disappointing. The gardens looked like the end of August. As previous reviewers pointed out- yes, the sweet peas looked desperate and depressing,but other areas looked ill maintained too.

There are several species of wild birds in the grounds.
The atmosphere is peaceful and one feels that it is a place that evokes thought and relaxation.
Have driven past the sign for this place on the A1 for years and finally got to visit.
It makes for a very pleasant afternoon wandering through the gardens, having coffee or lunch in the cafe etc.
