We are always being told that local councils are cutting back on their responsibilities to their parks and gardens. That certainly isn't the case with The Leas on the front at Folkestone. The beds are full of spring flowers, the grass is mown and the bandstand is in good condition. So many old English seaside resorts look sad these days... 更多

I have to say I was extremely proud of our town this weekend. My son and wife came to visit and stayed in the View Hotel overlooking the Leas. The new owners who have spent a vast amount of money should be commended but also the Environment Department for the fantastic flower beds, I think the person who designed the... 更多

If its a nice day then this is a wonderful walk incorporating sea views and points of interest including two historic nineteenth century hotels (The Grand and the New Metropole) and Baden-Powells house in Folkestone as well as a Martello Tower with an art installation. There are also open grassy areas ideal for picnicking. The walk back into town is... 更多

We walked along the promenade to the town centre, which is a gentle sloping walk. Along the way there are speakers under some benches with some information and recordings of letters from soldiers from the first/second wars.

Lovely walk into town along the sea front, great views, you can follow the zig zag path down to the harbour and walk back up through old town.

The Leas Promenade on top of the coastal park is a wonderful place for walk, a gentle jog, a leisurely bike ride or a simple picnic on the grass. The promenade is about a mile long with ample benches, large grass areas, a nice bandstand, fantastic views over the Channel and a Tarmac pavement running its entire length. There is... 更多

Stunning views of Mediterranean blue seas, with hardly a breathe of air. Just like being abroad but only 55misn from London St Pancras.

You have lovely walks along the Leas either from the top of the cliff or make your way down the windy steep pathway to the shore line with many attractions on the way.. You can barbecue, and their is slides etc for the children.

Beautifully maintained and presented, the Leas Promenade is a fairly flat & very pleasant walk with stunning views across the channel. I especially like listening to the recorded Great War letters that are played through speakers under some of the park benches. Looking out across the channel, one can imagine the authors sitting and writing to the family member they... 更多
