The market was huge, and they were smaller markets interconnected to form one big market. I got completely lost walking through it!
The baked potato was a great food item for a cold day. Other comfort food was churros and waffles.
The market was surrounded by charming buildings oozing with old-world charm. It was quite crowded so prams and luggage...
This is one of the sites used in the film version of "Sound of Music". It is a large marble fountain ringed by four water spouting horses and topped by a statue of Triton. The square is used as a market on occasions and other time has a number of buskers, horse-drawn carriages, etc making this a busy place.
A beautiful, traditional outdoor area complete with horse drawn carriages, lovely shops and many restaurants and cafes near by.
A very nice area to visit either during the day time or a summer's evening.
