Exploring, understanding and treating the body has always been the job of medicine. At Medical Museion we explore what medicine means for our lives – in the past, present and future. Medical Museion is a museum for everyone who has a body and is curious about how it is has been understood and treated, from Antiquity to Genetics.

Exhibitions at Medical Museion draw on the museum’s vast collection of historical objects. However, you can also encounter cutting edge medical research and practice. The exhibitions take you on a journey through the world of medicine from historical understandings of our bodies to current challenges in public health such as obesity. The Body Collected (opened in 2015) lays out how medicine has collected the human body for research and teaching throughout history, running up to the present day.

Guests are invited to join one of our guided tours (included in admission price) for a general introduction to the exhibitions, however, we also encourage you to explore the museum on your own. Do make sure to check out the museum’s calendar for special events, including Evening Consultations.

Medical Museion is a university museum where scholars do research in science communication and medical humanities, often based in or contributing to the exhibitions. Many of the museum’s activities are experimental - both in format and content. Examples include the open collection room for Psychiatry, and the contemporary research focus of Room for Ageing.

The Royal Surgical Academy

Medical Museion is based in the buildings of the old Surgical Academy from 1787. Traces of the past are still evident in the exhibition rooms. At the centre of the museum is the anatomical theatre in which generations of medical student witnessed dissections of corpses and learned about anatomy. The anatomical theatre is still used for public lectures, doctoral defences and teaching. Medical Museion also hosts concerts, performance art and theatre in its historical surroundings, and arranges public events based on the exhibitions.

It is an old building near the harbor, lots of dead bodies, organs etc. Most of the times its also translated in English, exept for the game you can play: it is only Danish. Maybe they will do something about that. If you got spare time: visit this museum!

This place sold Copenhagen for my partner and I. We're fascinated by bones and medical oddities so had to give it a go. The place isn't big and you can get around it in an hour/hour and a half. There's some interesting medical instruments and history of medicine exhibitions, but we visited for the human bones and pickled foetuses/babies. It... 更多

An interesting place to spend an hour or so if you are keen on science and / or medicine. It is quite small, but good value and has lots to look at. Don't take your kids though, as a good number of the exhibits are body parts or complete bodies with some sort of illness or deformity. It also has... 更多

We had a great tour(way to short) as part of an evening program at a conference . The specimen on display are in amazingly good shape. If your in medicine this is a must see. Some things maybe be a bit to much for the light hearted! Take the guided tour.

First time visiting a medical museum. It was very interesting seeing how different illnesses affect the human body. The museum itself is relatively small in size but it was great value for money (150dkk for 2 adults). Our tour guide was very knowledgable and had great English. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something a bit different -... 更多

This museum is full of unique interesting specimens that you wouldn't see in other cities! Tons of fascinating facts and a million things to learn here regarding medicine, medical history and biology but it is NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED! Very graphic and not suitable for children in my opinion. Not the biggest Museum so I think it's a bit... 更多

This place is great if you are interested in medical history. Boyfriend was a bit pale after looking at all those organs, bones and deformed fetuses. You can also see a video of a stomach bypass surgery. Also history of the building is interesting. A must see!

For a nerd in any field of medicine, this is the place to be! Very elaborate explanation as you go through the history of medicine specially how to deal with obesity from different aspects as you start from historical time until the current time. Babies in Jar with multiple syndromes were my favorite followed by the display of advancements to... 更多

We visited the medical museum on a recent visit to Copenhagen. We took part in the free tour which was in english provided by one of the medical students that worked in the museum. The students working there were very friendly and helpful. The tour was very interesting and informative, it lasted about an hour. There were many exhibitions in... 更多

We only visited this as we spotted it next door to the Design Museum. It was a really thoughtfully curated museum and opened my eyes to medical history in a way I've never experienced before. I felt the museum shared so much in a really accessible and sensitive way. Yes some of the exhibits were a bit shocking but they... 更多

内城
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
