Wonderful small old church that has chimes at 0730 every morning - no need to set an alarm clock. Did not attempt entrance so I can't speak for anything inside. Exterior appears very old. Totally surrounded by high-rise apartments and traffic - both foot and car.
Enjoy the marvellous church with its genuine Byzantine architecture and by far the best mosaics in Thessaloniki. The name "Achiropiitos", meaning non hand made, was given for a reason... for sure!
Very old and amazing church. If it would be closed you should go around of church and find a monk (or priest), he opened church for me when i was in Thessaloniki, thanks to this i could be in 5th century church alone it was amazing for me!

Although perhaps not the most famous, this was, for me, the most beautiful church I visited in Thessaloniki. It is ancient, peaceful and harmonious.
This is one of the oldest churches in Thessaloniki. It has a park around it, it is practically surrounded by vegetation. It is a very nice church, and it is worth visiting!
