We walked around the market and found fun things to buy, souvenirs and trinkets and food, and met some nice locals. Was a nice walk around and interesting for the kids
One of the larger and more colourful markets in Thessaloniki. The Sights sounds and smells of a fully working old fashioned market offering a wonderful variety of shops and stalls and great photo opportunites!
It is very close to Aristotelis square, and it is a great place to go to for street food lunch :) Also, i have bought a lot of souvenirs from here -there are local shops with local Greek products - good value for money.
If you want to see the real Thessaloniki, this is the place to visit. Real people selling to real people, not a show prepared for tourists. Nothing more to say.
You cannot say that you have seen a city until you visit its central market. Modiano market is the central market of Thessaloniki in the historic center of the city. It was built between 1922 and 1930, in the center of the city and forms the central point of the city's market which encompasses over several blocks. It took its... 更多
This open market has almost everything! Situated pretty close to Aristotle square, Modiano market is a local market that sells fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, nuts, olives, olive oil, clothes including shoes, sports wear, lingerie etc. There isn't pretty anything you won't find in this place. I highly recommend the seafood as they have a wide variety and it's... 更多
It is definitely similar to the markets I have visited in other parts of the world and as such has a treasure trove of hand made products made by local craftsmen. My favorites are the tablecloths and blankets which I use all the time and gave to family members as fifts. There are also all kinds of chinese stuff but... 更多
No trip to Thessaloniki should be without an hour or two wandering this vibrant, permanent street market, set in the heart of Thessaloniki off of Aristotelous Square. It has everything...fresh produce, fish, meats, cheeses and olives and herbs, household goods, souveniers, cheap clothes and electronics, religious artifacts, tavernas, you name it, and its here. Great photo ops.
