We only went here as I wanted to see the port of Piraeus and this in it's self is interesting as you can watch the ferries come and go. The museum is located about a 20 minute walk from the metro so you get to see a bit more of Piraeus. It is located close to a harbour that is... 更多
The point of this review is to highlight the wretched opening hours. It is only open from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm on Tuesday to Saturday inclusive. For the National Maritime Museum of Greece, one of the great seafaring nations of the world, that is, IMHO, truly lamentable. It is difficult to find because the signage to it is almost... 更多
A little bit of history on the importance of sea ports in Greece, then a lot of models of ships as well as other artefacts related to the seas. Had a really good section on the naval battles of the Giorgios Averof, but I felt they belonged more with the ships itself which is its own exhibit on the other... 更多
Worth a visit if you happen to be in Piraeus with some time on your hands, but by no mans a must-see attraction. Some interesting exhibits, but little is made of them
Its a must see museum for people who love maritime and the sea. The visitor may find rare, old but well preserved equipment related to ships and maritime. Paintings from important Greek painters are also being presented in the museum premises. Due to the large amount of items the visitor may need 1-3 hours to complete his/her tour. Books and... 更多
We are sailors and sea junkies. This was great for us. It is under the road and inside the Zea Marina area. 4.00euro is good. Great info on islands and history. There is an incredibly jam packed library. Terrific art and naval features.
The Hellenic Maritime Museum was founded in 1949 and is located at Freatida, near Zea Harbour, in Piraeus. Easy access by foot from the center of Piraeus in 15-20 minutes route. The museum exhibits almost 2500 items presenting in chronological order the maritime history of Greece from prehistoric times to the present day. The most interesting detail is that youu... 更多
Amazing artifacts showing all aspects of greek sea manship had a amazing time and not too hard to find. Next door is flocafe so have a coffee and watch the new shipping. The staff in the museum are very good and gave me a book in english
Hard to find and looks closed even when open. Very incoherent but some nice items on display. I enjoyed the outside part with artillery pieces the most. Typically no information whatsoever. I guess only for military enthusiasts. The nearby marina is nice for a stroll, verified by my female counterpart.
