This is really and interesting trip around the history of Portugal, with many historic artifacts around the many rooms. A nice glimpse into Portuguese history. I liked that it was very well maintained and decorated with the original artwork and furnishings. A palace full of Portuguese history. It was built in the 15th century and only in the 20th century did it became a national monument. It is well preserved and it has interesting pieces of furniture and tapestry. Very interesting
It is like the Portuguese have an ability to hide or at least to be humble what is attractive about their country, history and culture. I have noticed this more often. If you are in Guimaraes you cannot miss the Braganza castle. For the lovers of history, this was the castle where Catherina Bragranza, the later wife of Charles I of England grew up. he castle is well maintained and easy to reach.
