After visiting the castle l came across this site and it was a surprise to see. I have seen a lot of roman amphitheatre over the years in Italy, Tunisia etc and they were very impressive! There may not be a lot leave of the roman amphitheatre on this site, but for what there is it is still very interesting... 更多
On the way up to the castle we found this hole in the road which turned out to be the Roman theatre. Being generous we looked at it for about two minutes before walking past it. There's not really much left of this ancient Roman theatre and a quick look is more than sufficient. If you've seen roman theatres in Italy or Northern Africa then you should really condition expectations before viewing this one which is quite a poor example in comparison.
In the heart of the city this preserved setting is accessed via the museum. beware most maps indicate its accessible from the north side but this is the exit not the entrance. Combine with the underground shelter and castle for a truly great historical adventure.
