The port isn't beautiful and there is nothing special here. There are a few shops but that's about it. Use it to get to Capri but do not spend time here.
We stayed for two weeks in Sorrento in an apartment we rented in Marina Grande. The name of our apartment was Casa Marama. 2nd floor apartment with views of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and a glimpse of Capri to die for. Every room had 10 ft doors that opened out to the views. AND, it was super reasonable. The... 更多
Marina Grande is the arrival point on Capri. Good shopping, nice restaurants. If staying on the island opt to take the Funicular railway over a taxi or bus, much cheaper and direct to the walking point in the main area of Capri! There are also a few stores that have a "Left Luggage" spot if you are only making a... 更多
Marina Grande is the first place of Capri that you will see when you arrive on the island. And it is just because the ferries from Naples and Sorrento berth there. It's a hectic place with a lot of people, just arrived or waiting for their ferry, local guys trying to persuade the tourists to take a ride or a... 更多
Getting off of the ferry, the marina area is nice. There are restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. Take the funicular to the top to get the best the Island of Capri has to offer. I visited on a rainy day in November and the marina area was not crowded.
I was interested to read review by pnk1111. I also was short-changed at ticket window for funicular. I was surprised at how little change I received. Walked away and checked the ticket price on the board, worked out the guy had given me change from 10 euros instead of 20. I thought because I walked away and didn't pick him... 更多
When you arrive in Capri by boat, they all dock at the Marina Grande. And its absolute carnage! Bedlam. Get off the boat and get off the main marina thoroughfare as quick as you can is my advice. It's simply far too busy to enjoy anything. But the good news is a few short steps takes you off the marina... 更多
This is were most of the ferries dump you off, not much here to see accept shops and restaurants and of course those people hawking tours, I usually will walk up the long way up the hill or the cable car depending on our energy level. Bustling with loads of tourists, the later in the day you arrive the busier... 更多
Looking down on it from above Marina Grande is pretty, but on the ground its insane with an average day seeing 10,000 people shuffle through from ferries. It is the main entry and exit to Capri and as such is very touristy with only a few places to escape the touts and hustlers. On the water its all madness with... 更多
A beautiful little Marina with some interesting scenery. Just a shame it was spoilt by the crazy number of tourists, ticket and restaurant touts. Didn't hang around here too long.
