A bit of an average pub. Nothing interesting on tap. Being winter, the beer garden was re-purposed with a HUGE tv screen. I could see it from inside, it lit up most of the interior of the pub. Not that nice really. Great discount for students, great in the summer if you want a big beer garden in the city... 更多
Good area in the open, however in this cold in Edinburgh, you cant stay out for more than 5 minutes. Inside, it got very very crowded. Not sure why they allow so many people if there is no space. The beers are good, and staff is decent.
Visited this pub during the fringe and received the worst customer service. Took friends along who were not from Edinburgh and was embarrassed at the service we were given. One friend stood so long at the bar that the person behind her had to point out she was next in line and had been waiting a while to the bar... 更多
Came here many times during the UEFA Euro 2016. Visited a lot of PUBs across UK from London to Manchester to Liverpool to York since I'm traveling but this is my favorite PUB. A lot of people came here to watch the game. Their food (burger) was actually good and a lot of selection of drinks here in a reasonable... 更多
So many busy places during the festival, but the staff here were very efficient and even though busy. The beer choice was good and there is a good selection go beers at a reasonable price.
All the Pear Tree is really famous for is having the onyl decent sized beer garden in the centre of town. Unfortunately this means that it is at capacity when they sun is out but lifeless and quiet when it isn't. Decent choice of beers but it just lacks something when the sun is away
Great spot for big gatherings as tables are very big, especially outside. Not sure if it's just for the fringe but there was also a big screen up in the beer garden for shows which was cool. Good student discount - although drinks are still on the expensive side - g+t was £4.80 with student discount!
Bar is alright with a decent selection of drinks and relatively friendly staff. Where this pub comes into its own is the giant beer garden which gets very busy but is rather pleasant on warm days. Overall this pub lacks character but the beer garden is a win.
Just watching Wimbledon final and wishing we were at the pear tree with its 22 metre square tv but I'm not fab place to watch sports etc but obviously does get busy. Don't think it serves food apart from a burger bar in the garden, however a fab place and wish it was my local
