Although the Canal Basin itself doesn't have much going on, it is the start of a lovely walk that takes you through many insights into Coventry's industrial heritage. On a sunny day it is this is a great way to see the city from a different perspective. You can hire canal barges at the Basin and there are some events... 更多
The hairdressers there are fab. The rest of the area is almost empty.. There is a trophy shop, a European shop, a cafe and thats about it. If the council put the energy into the area that they have put into Fargo village it would be a fun vibrant area.
I've just completed a narrow boat trip from Hawkesbury Junction to the Coventry Canal Basin. Please ignore the doom and gloom brigade. The canal is fine and not filled with shopping trolleys, bicycles or car tyres. It is generally very pleasant with a lot of regeneration and new housing being built alongside it's meandering path. For boaters wanting supplies, there... 更多
Just wander around the city and you'll pick up a sign for the Canal Basin. It's a good place to stroll round and there were some beautiful barges there when we visited. A few outlets open to buy things, but not to our taste. Good to window shop in.
It is an alright place but not a great tourist destination. We found it just alright and not too brilliant. But they have maintained the place well. It is very close to the city centre as well so one can visit city centre as well as the canal basin on the same day if you want to plan a day... 更多
A really nice quiet place well maintained with a variety of interetsing shops. Watching the boats arrive turn and leave on a nice Summers day sitting here is something worth doing. Spend an hour with an ice cream and enjoy the sights and sounds. Visited in November - suggest visit in Summer !!! (Too cold)
Having just completed a 2 day stay in the basin I must say I don't recognise some of the adverse comments. We had a quiet trouble free trip, there and back, and although there were a couple of patches of floating detritus I have certainly seen similar elsewhere. The basin was clean and very quiet and at no point did... 更多
Visited for about 3 hours stop-over to see something of the city. Cathedral and Herbert Museum are in easy walking distance from here. Not the largest basin to moor up in so may be crowded in the height of the season. Good moorings available. The only major drawback in getting here is the state of some of the canal on... 更多
