Really interesting lodge , could be so much more . Based outside Ludlow castle , the lodge has a very interesting facade, and I've wanted to visit for a while , but always appears shut , however today looked open , have to ring bell for admittance , promptly answered and stepped into a rather large room with inglenook fireplace... 更多
The slightly eccentric owner/occupier greets you on entry and the £3 charge will not break the bank, If you like okd houses this is a grea place to pass the time. I bet they had a great time filming Moll Flanders here. If you really like the house, it can be your for a mere £900,000.
I'm not sure where to start with this, but if you can get past the entrance hall reeking of smoke and the eccentricity of the owner, this is an extraordinary, astonishing, historic and memorable place to visit! From the moment you enter, you know this is not a usual sort of visit. You ring the bell for a start and... 更多
If you're visiting the Castle don't just walk past Castle Lodge. This building close to the Castle entrance is just as interesting & played an important role in history. It's charming & well worth a visit. You might even catch a glimpse of the ghost ‼️
You can't judge this property on the same lines as a National Trust or English Heritage attraction. It's privately owned and run by one slightly eccentric man, with no funding other than the very cheap admission price. There is very little information, interpretation or furniture within the house- you really have to use your own imagination- but that's not difficult... 更多
A wonderful property full of history. You enter by pressing a doorbell and paying the owner £3 in person. He is an elderly and fascinating man who now lives in the property alone. The house is creaky, ancient and extremely creepy. The rooms are largely unfurnished and there is no theming, displays or anything else you would expect from such... 更多
Do spend an hour in this extremely interesting historic building. The National Trust it is not - just what you see is what you get. You are welcomed by the owner who collects your £3 admittance and lets you wander at will. There are no dressed rooms or artefacts displayed (a few pictures, some slightly bizarre leather settees and a... 更多
A very spooky building which is absolutely full of history . we experienced the paranormal there for sure, and picked up orb's and other unexplained shadows when taking photos .A must if you are visiting Ludlow.
This wonderful house is just across from the castle and we were let in by the elderly owner who just let us wander around on our own.The three main down stairs rooms are the main attractions and give a good idea how the house would have looked in its hay day.there are ten other rooms open up stairs but most... 更多
This stunning house is a national treasure. The elderly owner is charming but a little eccentric. He will tell you about the house but really this building should be under the care of The National Trust or similar organisation. The Tudor ceilings are beautiful. Don't miss this house.
