This gallery is lovely and spacious with a good collection of work on display. The opening of some new work wasn't ready, but took a peak over the barrier! Great book shop, bought two new books!
Thank you for your comments, the new exhibitions open on the 19th May 更多
Having a free art gallery in the centre of Nottingham is one of the best things about Nottingham, you get the chance to see art from around the world for free, don't be a closed minded person Go plus they have a kids workshop on a Sunday if I remember rightly.

Well worth a visit here if you're in the area! Nearly always an interesting exhibition or two on to have a look at, some unusual gifts available in the shop, and the bar downstairs is lovely too (I think they still do Sunday lunches which are *amazing*). A really interesting building - if you look closely at the panelling on... 更多

This gallery has 3 very good spaces, and we very much enjoyed the exhibition we saw of black artists of the 80's. It was great to revisit the work, and even more timely as one has since been nominated for the Turner Prize. The shop was OK, though not as well stocked as some gallery shops, and the left luggage... 更多

We regularly visit this gallery when we are in Nottingham, the exhibitions are always well presented and curated but, as is the nature of Contemporary 'Art' - they can be very variable / challenging. We've seen some extraordinary and brilliant work here, but other 'art' that leaves you scratching your head or thinking it wouldn't be out of place in... 更多

Often in Nottingham and when possible will pop into the art centre to view exhibition and refreshments in the café. The building itself may not pass a beauty contest but the exhibitions are certainly up there with the best. Current exhibition is no exception and being of an age when I can remember only too well the attitudes on display,... 更多

What the title says really. Don't let the ugly exterior put you off, this is an excellent space for displaying a wide range of art. The majority of the current exhibition wasn't to our taste but art is meant to evoke a reaction - it doesn't have to be a positive one. Pop in if your are in the area... 更多
It's one of the great contemporary galleries - up there with Walsall, Turner Margate, and Tatenhill Modern, but on an intimate scale. Cooperation with local universities seems to help. Really good temporary exhibitions programme. Also a film programme, talks and souvies (but no combs).

OK art is subjective - this is a free gallery so you can't criticise it. If you're passing, see what's on and if you don't like - move on. We called in and it didn't work for us, another time it might. We do support art galleries as an opportunity to see different reflections of life.
From the outside I'm not keen on how the gallery looks, although inside it's a different story. Another series of amazing spaces put aside to give us access to contemporary culture. Today we saw the "The place is here" exhibition. We found it very moving and it's shocking to read about things that happened in your lifetime that reflect attitudes... 更多
