The gardens are pretty and a nice place to go for a walk. Canterbury has many nice places to see and I would go to this if I had spare time or wanted some exercise!
Pretty great if you like grass, crowds, emo kids smoking in the bandstand and homeless people sleeping in the bushes. Pretty fountain though.
We walked through after getting off the train It was so lovely with people sitting around sunbathing and playing with there children Also the sight of the spring flowers in the beds was beautiful in all there glory will spend more time there next time
a slow wander through these gardens, as well as its eaterie and sitting areas, make this an excellent place to while time away in good weather
Enjoyed a stroll around and the views from the top of the mount is spectacular. Beware there are no safety rails so wouldn't be suitable for very young children or anyone with mobility issues.
During the day its a lovely open area for people of all ages and groups with children, families etc. However, avoid at night due to the amount of teenagers who use the area for unsavoury recreational activities.
Often during the day the area is full of groups of loiterers, drinking and littering, and during the night it is downright unsafe - look up previous new stories about muggings/assaults/drug use etc. I would not recommend cutting through at night to use Canterbury East etc - even walking along the wall can make you feel unsafe. It's a shame... 更多
These extensive gardens are walled and provide a walkway from Canterbury East railway station into the centre of the town. They are well maintained and teem with small birds life - we saw long-tailed tits - and are a really pleasant place to spend some time. The mediaeval walls prtoect you from traffic noise on the other side.
