Fabulous place with loads to see. The volunteers are so enthusiastic & knowledgeable. Very interesting. A lot of items that should be in our town but aren't but thank goodness this place is saving them for the future generations.
I confess to having no interest in engineering but this museum is amazing, well laid out, loads of information and the the volunteers' were all really helpful and knowledge about a subject that they are clearly passionate about, stayed longer than expected but even that...更多
If you're interested in engines, engineering or local history I would strongly recommend a visit. Cheap to enter, fascinating collection of engines. Went on bank holiday Monday. What a brilliant museum most of the engines were operating and the volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely visit again.
Their policy is to run as many engines as possible whenever possible, because if it's not running it's just a lump of steel. So we saw dozens of engines on the go. Some artsy and gothic, most beautifully and lovingly restored by the enthusiastic team...更多
Great museum, well laid out, lots to see. It was much bigger than I though and you get free talks and demonstrations by a dedicated bunch of enthusiasts. Running huge industrial diesels, I learned thing I didn't know and I though I knew about engines....更多
