The Scott Polar Museum is small but very, very well curated. It is a tribute to the early 20th century expeditions, notably of Shackleton and of Scott. The sight of Captain Oates' sleeping back is almost too moving for words.

Went with my husband and son and we all enjoyed the museum, full of lots of information about the exploration of both poles. Not a large museum but after 2 hours we had to give up because our brains could not take in anymore facts!
