This is one of the best areas for family hiking in the area. Numerous trails with varying degrees of difficulty (and water content) are available. Great views, waterfalls and the like are all part of the experience. Unfortunately trail markings are difficult to see/missing and in some cases do not reflect the colors of the markings on the main map... 更多
This is a great little gem well worth the stop at. So many unique and interesting birdhouses. It was closed in the winter so only seasonally. I think it would make a great destination on the Amazing Race locate certain birdhouses that you saw in the County
We spent an hour walking in the woods of Macaulay Mountain and enjoyed the nature. While we did see some markers with red or green paint, they are elusive and somewhat faded. There is a map at the beginning of the route, but no indication of distances. However, with a GPS , and keeping the distant sound of the road... 更多
I went to the Macaulay Mountain Conservation area. I didn't particular care for the location. The bird houses were replicas of areas in and around the county. It was neat but not something I would return to see. Just not my cup of tea.
The Bird Houses are "Out of this World". The work that has been put in them is awesome. Just past the Bird House park there is a GREAT walking trail up the Mountain. A must to do if you are up to it!
We drove past the park with no time to stop and returned to visit the next day because we were intrigued. Tge collection of unique bird houses is worth the visit to the conversation area.
The Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area had lots of hiking trails! There was a number of trails to choose from and a variety of levels as well. It would be nice to have more signs at the front of the trails so you know which trail you are going on. The birdhouses were cool, but in need of updates.
I love wandering around the trails of Macauley Mountain. I have been there several times, and each visit brings me to a new area I've never explored before. It's wonderful to have such an escape right around the corner in Prince Edward County. P.S. Bring bug repellent.
