Nestled in a small picturesque village of Stillingfleet, near York, you will find this hidden gem. The gardens are laid out so they flow into one another with a delightful woodland walk, wildflower meadow, orchards, poultry run, wildlife pond and children's play area etc. The garden exudes calm and the clear passion of the owners who have very cleverly planted a... 更多
Really pleasant place to visit, in lovely surroundings, good choice of plants at affordable prices. Nice place to have coffee and cake, well worth the visit, don't forget to call into the church nearby!
Loved the layout, lots of small gardens in one which means you can take inspiration back to a home setting. Wonderful mix of traditional and modern with lots of quiet secluded places to relax the day away. Loved that we could ask for any advice.. "if you're ours not sure about a plant, take a picture and I will give... 更多
Visited Stillingfleet Gardens 17 May 2017 to make a wire hen under the instruction of expert Chris Moss. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and came away with an amazing wire hen. Setting beautiful and peaceful but unfortunately we were not able to fully appreciate the beauty of the gardens due to the weather. Would definitely visit again.
Cycled from Bishopthorpe to Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens - about 6 miles mainly along the Sustrans Cycle/Leisure Path - lovely views and easyish ride on a sunny day in May. Garden easy to find, very welcoming and well planned out for visitors. Lots of interesting areas to explore and many places to sit, take in the view and relax. Owner was... 更多
Lots of interest from sculptures, tulips, flowering trees and shrubs in May. Some wild areas, some formal. The named plants and the nursery make it a plantsman's garden but there are also places where children can run and grandparents can sit and listen to the birds.
The garden was separated into different areas with information about the plants in each one. We had coffee and homemade cake in the cafe - help yourself with an honesty box!!
I visited Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens today and it is a must for plant lovers. It is a very English cottage garden and although it is just on the outskirts of York, you feel that you are deep in the countryside. At the entrance you may meet Vanessa and her husband who have created the gardens over forty years. The garden... 更多
We popped in on way back from York. The lady in the office was very helpful & the map/info very good. The gardens are very well looked after, lawns are immaculate ! There is a good variety of gardens to see, it's easy to walk around them all. There is a cafe with drinks/snacks and lots of info on the... 更多
Visited the gardens today. Although not the finest May day, it certainly didnt detract from the lovely gardens or the friendly welcome. So many different plants to see and not a garden like the more formal gardens of the stately home type. These gardens are very much cottage garden like with a surprise around every corner. The wild garden area... 更多
