Whatever they say about Zippori cannot do justice to the site. The Israel Parks Authority have spent well, as the site is wheelchair and buggy / stroller friendly, with lots of shade, seats and picnic sites. The sheer quality of the 2000 year old mosaics is breathtaking and you really do get a sense of 'how they lived then'. Don't... 更多
A trip though history from the Greek and Roman times, Sanhedrin period and the Islamic and Cruasder periods. The mosaics are outstanding, especially the synagogue floor. Do not miss the walk though the underground water system.
If you're visiting Nazareth, please go see the National Park in Sepphoris (Zippori) nearby. It's amazing to see the remains of this ancient city. Many Biblical scholars believe that Jesus may have spent time in Sepphoris working as it was a more cosmopolitan and wealthy town than Nazareth itself. Here you can still see the mosaics that people had in... 更多
This is a MUST SEE in the north of Israel. The most amazing mosaics that are preserved in Israel. Dozens and dozens of them. Only uncovered in the last few decades! The best Roman remains in the country and some of the best Roman remains in the world! And the uncovered ancient synagogue mosaic here. Breathtaking and historically extremely important.... 更多
As a foreign visitor or as a native visitor, a place you have to visit. Marvelous ancient mosaic works kept in good shape. A nice place to spend 2-3 hours at least.
Tzippori is an ancient city in the lower Galilee, it was once a center of Jewish life. We had a great family time traveling through the beautiful mosaic floors and ancient reservoir. The kids loves the cave that used to lead water to the old city. Recommended.
This place is worth a visit. The mosaics found in this site are the best preserved of the area. The site is quite large and I advice to bring a bottle of water with you. The ruins are surrounded by olive trees and mediterrean bushes and overall the atmosphere is touching. The mosaics of the so-called Mona Lisa of the... 更多
I LOVED this place. The old synagogue and its mosaic floor is amazing. The movie and its soundtrack moved me to tears. Of all the amazing things in Israel, this was my favourite.
It is a bit off the usual places the tourists visit, but in order to understand the Greek-Roman influence in the Galillee, and understand how life went about, you have to visit this site, firstly for the beautiful mosaics uncovered here, secondly, there is still much to be uncovered, and to see the Mona Lisa of the Galilee....it was very... 更多
This was such an amazing place. We walked past the colonnaded main street, and were just wandering down to the right and even with our map seemed to almost stumble upon the intricate mosaic synagogue floor! What a fascinating place! To think this floor was only discovered in the 90's when they were digging the parking lot for the interpretive... 更多
