Early mornings and late evenings are the best time to spend time here. I visited Xalapa over the weekend and there was dancing all day on Sunday till late and Saturday morning was worthy of a few hours to relax and enjoy seeing the locals make use of this beautiful space.
Ubicated in the downtown in the city next to Goberment State Building and The Catedral, is a very good pointo to see a part of the city.
There's always people sitting in the park enjoying the day. A favorite of mine is to buy rice and feed the pigeons. A must see in Xalapa! If you walk away from the Main Street you can also find some great views of the city .
If the weather is good you have a fine panorama over the mountains, but most of the time it is cloudy. There is always something to see in the park, so it is nice to walk around
This park is well liked by locals and is designed with multiple levels. Unfortunately, the downtown area is clogged with slow moving traffic. The city's poor transportation system is accompanied by hundreds of taxicabs that drive non-stop trying to pick up pedestrians.
By all means take every opportunity to enjoy nature in this lovely park.We were there in October, which was a good time of the year to go for walks.
Historical park smack in the center of Xalapa ... could almost be considered a plaza. The large patio area that extends out on one side offers wonderful views of the city below ... and on the weekends it is bustling with food vendors and musicians.
The park is the center of Xalapa with street-artists, tiny kiosks and a few restaurants nearby. The trees give shade during a hot summer day. But you won't spend more than an hour here, though it's nice to eat some street-food there and watch the authentic mexican life passing you by.
