There is plenty of history within St Bridget's Church, staring at the huge old door and continuing around the church itself. An interesting display lists the names of those engraved on the War Memorial at the roadside, together with personal information on the men who died during the conflict, which makes the memorial so much more personal.
Lovely medieval church next to Skenrith Castle. Its in a beautiful location and delightful to wander round for a quiet 15 mins. To be honest the exterior is more interesting than the interior but its well worth a visit
Probably quite interesting for its unusual architecture alone but the inside is nothing special, though I'm sure it is and was for many. Very interesting for historian research along with the castle, but it is in a pleasant area of land, by river, castle and pub. Couple it with a visit to Skenrith Castle (40 yds away)
Lovely old church. Interesting castle. Nice walks with lovely countryside. Vicious insect bites on our walk, Were there for a local wedding which despite the overpriced accommodation, was most enjoyable.
