We shall be going back next Sunday for a repeat visit as we did not leave ourselves enough time to see everything. The travel is well worth the effort. We would recommend setting aside at least three hours to spend there to see and enjoy....更多
Wow, so much effort has gone into this museum which is just a short drive out of Hawera. And it was well worth the drive. We spent an easy 2 hours viewing and learning about the exhibits of Taranaki history. Very cleverly done to a...更多
Great displays. from tiny figures of soldiers to real sized people. Informative reading as well as all that is in each display. Cost is $15 for the main museum, $6 for the train ride which is a slow amble about 500 metres up the bush...更多
Heard lots about this place and finally to time out to visit. Absolutely amazing! The amount of work involved in making the models, finding all the items included in the museum and setting it all up. One of the best collections I have seen for...更多

A great hidden gem that you should not pass. Fantastic collection with small train and boat ride. NZ history with extra. Toilets/Cafe/Souvenirs. With some hands on exhibits that kids love.
Great exhibits which one could spend hours going through it. Full of history and interesting exhibits which were right up there with other international museums. Was pleasantly surprised by this little gem given its location.
