--Aung Marcus Aung-M'sia
We decided chose A1 until arrived in Heho. And it was a smart choice. Our tour guide Momo speaks perfect English with rich knowledge of the field. Besides hiked everyday, we also got to know the faun and flora, farming knowledge and traditions here. They are kind/polite/care people, food on the table were always tasty. The bamboo house overnite experience was fun if u ignored all your urban habit. Easy trekking route, even ok for kids.
I participated in the two-day A1 trek from Kalaw to Inle Lake. To my friend and me, the trip was amazing and frustrating.
I would tell everyone some important things for all the travelers should get attention.
First thing which made me very frustrated is the owner of the sleeping village.
First day, after trekking, we lived in the local village for sleeping. I saw the male owner of the house came to my room twice when we were outside.
At first time, I did not realize how serious it was. But the second day, when we had breakfast downstairs, I found that he came to my room again without my permission which made me a little bit annoyed. And what’s more, when we were back to the room and started to pack my stuff, I found my pack bag touched. Immediately, I opened it and checked cash. Some money was gone (the approximate number is about 30-40 USD). I can be definitely for sure that the money was lost in this village because I have a habit to check my cash all the time when I leave a hotel. And also I like to put all the cash in my order. So if anyone turn over my bag, I can easily notice it. So be careful about your belongings especially money.
Second thing is the credit about tour guide. Before we started the trip, I asked the tour guide for help to buy a naturally organic chick from the sleep village and it cost me extra 7000ks for that. What I paid was I the whole chick for dinner. When the chicken was served on table, we only got one chicken wing and one chicken leg. And it is very ridiculous that the tour guide promised us that was the whole chick. Okay, maybe what I paid for is a disabled chick.
Lastly, to be fair, for the hiking trip, the landscape of the village was very amazing and beautiful. Although for January and February are the aridity season in local area, you still could see the last season of farming chilies. Moreover, the two-day trekking could consume you a lot of calories from storage energy of the routine life in the city.
