Le Darnetal was filling up on a Wednesday evening in May, but we were welcomed and found a table in this small, rugby-themed, restaurant. The menu is, thankfully, not a long one and the restaurant is smoothly organised by the wife of the chef. Starters of foie gras and a salade des gesiers were both mouth-watering and excellent and the... 更多
We booked in here as it was the No.1 rated local restaurant, and we were not disappointed. although it is quite a small restaurant, it is intimate, the staff very helpful and attentive. There was a group of five, so we booked on Sunday evening. Definitely recommend booking because it is so popular. I had Frogs Legs followed by Chateaubriand... 更多
We chose to eat in this restaurant because it was rated no.1 in Montreuil sur Mer on trip adviser. It's pre - eminence is unquestionably justified. My wife had foie gras and I had grenouilles and crevettes - both were copious and delicious; we then both chose the turbot and this turned out to be as good a piece of... 更多
We went here for our daughters birthday. Very warm welcome. Had an amazing meal, the food is always fabulous! Fantastic service. Recommend the fish.
Excellent food, excellent and very friendly hosts ... Able to understand our Franglais & help us with our Francais. Starters of Fois Gras & Gratin Crab, main courses of boeuf with a variety of sauces, cheese course then the house desert (a whisky mousse). Bottle of red, 2 glasses each of dessert wine all for just over €100 One of... 更多
Being in the food business myself I am very critical of every dish put in front of me. My choice of restaurant is always a carefully made one.The food without exception has to be tasty but then there is so much more that makes me feel taken care of and looked after- the attentive friendly service, the well presented food... 更多
A lovely old place in the middle of town, with an excellent 29 euro menu (the 22 euro Wednesday menu looked good too). The food was great (prawns and shrimps in garlic, lamb couscous, monkfish and sole) and the desserts were to die for! The diners were mostly English when we were there.
After two meals in Michelin-starred restaurants we opted for Le Darnetal on our last night in Montreuil. Good value, good taste - Michelin restaurants overrated.
A short break in Montreuil lead us try the restaurant attached to our hotel on the first night...clinical, expensive and not very good food (see separate review). The second night we came across Le Darnetal. The restaurant itself reminded me of a 'curiosity shop' with a variety of paintings, sculptures, hats, etc around the walls. I booked a table in... 更多
We chosen the best set menu. Good choice of starter and mains. The food was excellent, as was the service. We had the last table at 7.15pm, so worth booking. The French eat early, and seem to only have one sitting. The restaurant was empty by 9.30 and the owner was ready to close. So plan your food intake so... 更多
A group of 8 of us enjoyed a lovely lunch and such friendly service considering England were due to play France in the rugby later that day - chef as a big rugby fan didn't let that put him off producing great food. Bass was superb and friends rated the duck, monkfish / sole in saffron and the steak. The... 更多
This must surely be one of the most eclectic little restaurants you will find. The walls are decorated with everything from paintings and prints by French artists to dozens [perhaps a hundred] skip caps with the emblems of various football and rugby teams. You will not be short of something to look at whilst you await your food. The service... 更多
