We had a group of 8 people. We had mofongo and it really had a puertorican taste. We love it!!. We highly recommend it.
The food is okay overall. Nothing to write home about it. They have combine a few ingredients well but, nothing compares to the simplicity and great home cooking flavors of the Rican "cosina". Do not go out of your way to get here. ***Do not order the Tembleque.
We have been to La Isla many times. We just went this pst week as I was looking forward to a good Puerto Rican bistec and a frozen mojito. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review of this restaurant. I don't know if they are under new management or what. We arrive at a non... 更多
We had high hopes for this place, but we immediately ran into trouble. The room was very hot (no fans or open windows), the service was excruciatingly slow, it was loud and hard to hear and dark. The food, when it came, was a disappointment. The pulled pork was served in a scoop like tuna, and was dry and tasteless... 更多
We like to come here during happy hour, they don,t take ,reservations, and this popular place can get crowded. The dinner menu is also great, the pork spectacular, also the catfish. I am not a huge fan of the green banana, plantain thing, but the first few still are fun. Staff is great and helpful, but why we really come... 更多
Puerto Rican food is rare in the UK, so was keen to try La Isla during our stay in Ballard/Seattle. We arrived late in the evening, but it was still busy and atmospheric. We tried the appetiser selection plate and each had the plantain lasagna (pastelon) with pork. Large portions meant we had to box up most of the pastelon... 更多
Went here last night with a small group for happy hour. Appetizers were delicious! The salmon was plentiful, and each item (we tried 4) was fantastic. Velvet mojito was a great twist with tamarind. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
We went here on a Friday night and the place was buzzing with good energy. Our server was helpful with the menu and gave us some good recs. The salmon and onions entree was absolutely delicious and the blueberry basil caprihana was a must have. Would give it a solid 9 out of 10. Love seeing Latin American cuisine in... 更多
Basically a Puerto Rican sit-down sandwich and burger joint. Nice art on the walls and a great location in Ballard. I had a plantain sandwich which substituted deep-fried plantains for the bread in a chicken sandwich. This is not a good idea- the rock hard, greasy fried plantain slabs were almost unpleasant and the chicken was entirely unremarkable. And I... 更多
Saturday my wife and I took a friend visiting from Colorado to Seattle's Ballard neighborhood to eat lunch at La Isla. The food was very tasty. We had Cuban sandwiches with sweet potato fries, house salad with Mango rum dressing, flan, and a house made three leche (sp?) cake with strawberries, whip cream, and vanilla ice cream. It was delicious.
