Seiji is a Master sushi chef and his wife is a great and adorable maître. Only 3 tables (for six, four and two people). Food is delicious. What a great discover! A MUST
I love this place; one of my favorites in town. BYOB, no frills, just good sushi. But call ahead. More than once I've shown up to see a closed sign on the door during normal hours.
Everything we had was wonderful. Chicken teriyaki was some of the best I have had, tender and flavorful. The folks at the front table as we entered encouraged us to come in by saying the food was so good that they came back two nights in a row. Great and friendly service. We even watched the owner/sushi chef work for... 更多
We happened upon Seiji's 3 years ago and have been recommending it to friends ever since. We had another chance to dine there this month and we weren't disappointed. Don't judge the place by its decor! The owner/chef made a name for himself in both New York City and San Francisco before he opened here in Kona, to stay. It's... 更多
Yes, it's not much to look at; yes, it's off the beaten path; and yes, the tables are small and plain. But the food is fabulous!! The nigiri sushi is extremely fresh, with large slices of fish (the hamachi was perhaps the best I've eaten in 30 years), and the tempura was also really delicious, with a very light batter. As others have said, it's a bit hard to find but its worth it. Very good sushi at a good price which is uncommon in Hawaii.
One good chef and one server, in this small local spot. Don't let the exterior or the interior put you off if your into fresh sushi. Moderate prices.
While this place is a little hard to find-it's worth the trouble. Right down town in the middle of the market place and you see a sign from the main street "sushi". Both rolls that we got was great. The volcano roll was excellent. And the Tempura was excellent also. Again-worth the trouble in finding.
Absolutely outstanding service, beautifully prepared and presented sushi. Will certainly return to this restaurant; after all, when the sushi is so good who needs a beer menu! Highly recommended.
