Friends insisted on taking us to this place while we were visiting NOLA. Personally, I'm not a big diner person but this place is incredible. It's a counter-only little diner with outstanding food and incredibly good and entertaining servers.
We went about 11:00 AM on a Tuesday ( it was after Jazzfest first weekend ) very crowded . For a reason . Great diner food . My daughter and I both had the Chef's Special Omelette and we loved it . She said it was the best she's ever had . It is counter service but good and quick... 更多
The Camellia Grill in The Garden District is a step back in time. We took a lovely ride through the garden district on the trolley ending with a stop off at the Camellia Grill for lunch. We had heard about the wonderful old fashioned diner. The food was okay, a large diner menu with lots of choices. The food was... 更多
New Orleans is all about food and drink. And I have learned to trust the locals to never steer me wrong. But, overall, this place is a disaster. Counters were sticky, tableware was dingy (my saucer had a "patina" that obviously would never wash off). Mostly, my food (a burger) was edible but came out well after my side of... 更多
Friends of mine suggested we eat here on our recent trip to New Orleans, and we were glad we did. It is located in the Garden District at the last stop on the Green Line Trolly (only $1.25 each way, or $3.00 for an unlimited day pass). There was a line out the door, which we had expected, and when... 更多
After reading reviews. ..I had much higher expectations. ... I asked if gumbo had okra I was told no..when it came it was polluted with it. Silver ware was dirty.. fries were very greasy like the fry oil was old..then as I tried to pay the bill...the cashier disappeared for 10 min. If you want to go...please expect waffle house... 更多
Okay, here's the thing about Camelia Grill; it's a grill, not a five-star restaurant. But, it's a five-star grill! Why? Because they do what they do and they do it well. We were lucky and came on a chilly, damp morning. That, apparently, was enough to keep folks away. We waited for about 30 minutes all told, from entry to... 更多
LEON our server took us back to how a dinner should be...Very personal and intimate...its how a dinner should be. Leon engaged a lot with us and the other patrons and made sure we were satisfied. .even gave us stories about the restaurant and the history of the food. Service was great and food was all the way fresh ...EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
We stopped here for a quick lunch after a trip to City Park. It was later in the afternoon so we didn't have to wait long for a seat. They seem to have mastered the art of moving people in and out quickly. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. My husband said their muffaletta was the best he had... 更多
last time I was in this restaurant was about 20 years ago! when I was living in new orleans, I used to be a regular, it went through the devastation of Katrina, and it opened up again a few years back, upon entering all kinds of memories came back, I sat on the counter as all seating is on the... 更多
Camellia Grill is one of those unique eating places that draws a crowd. The food is above average but the means of waiting for one of the counter seats (all seats are at the counter) is what is unique. You wait outside until you are waved in where you end up waiting at one of the benches along the wall.... 更多
