A disclaimer - My dad was from New Orleans; I was raised in Mobile, on the Gulf Coast, so my standards may be different. The menu reads well. The gumbo was excellent, but the crawfish bisque was fishy, and not creamy, not a classic bisque. The guacamole, crab, shrimp stack was tasty - love avocados, and thank goodness. There was... 更多
It may sound like a little thing to rave about the hot food. But have your ever received your dishes in stages so that by the time you get served all parts of your breakfast the first plate is getting cold. The eggs, bacon and toast were all served hot and delicious. The fruit was not hot. My mother's beignets... 更多
Last week I spent a couple nights at the Hotel Monteleone with my family and both nights we dined at Criollo Restaurant. On the first night we were seated in a room away from the main dining room which was actually quite nice since it was a Saturday and noise carried over from the neighboring Carousel Bar. Our serving dynamic... 更多
Our fourth and last morning in New Orleans, and we had not yet had a beignet. We chose Criollo because we'd stayed at Hotel Monteleone and Criollo is located there. We shared the beignet plate – four hot, perfectly crisp squares liberally dusted with powdered sugar. They were accompanied by a dish of warm buttery caramel sauce and strawberries as... 更多
While everyone else was lining up for the popular spot for breakfast, I would avoid the local tourist traps that boast a long wait time and not much else. The beignet's were AMAZING and I would want to eat there for a full week just to try their fabulous daily Eggs Benedict selection. The pain perdu (french toast) was too... 更多
We were staying at the hotel and stopped in for breakfast at about 845 a.m. The restaurant was not full but were told it would be a 20 minute wait. Turned out to not be quite that long. While waiting we asked the hostess if we could get Bloody Mary's.She told us that there was no bartender but she would... 更多
Food was perfectly cooked and perfectly serves by Lucille. Everything came out in a timely manner so everything was hot, the way it is supposed to be.
Service by Lucille was excellent and the food was just right to plan out a great day. Seated quickly and the food was prepared timely.
I had three breakfasts here. Every one a delight. Prices range, for a full breakfast is $13 - $17 but worth every penny. Coffee or tea extra, but a bottomless cup. Each dish brings choices. A couple at the table next to me, could not find exactly what they wanted on the menu and were able to receive a custom... 更多
All of the staff was very friendly. Our waitress, Lucille, couldn't spoil us enough. Don't miss the beignets. They are a bit smaller than you might find around town but the warm praline sauce makes them special.
My BFF and I took 3 little girls (8,10, and 11) on a Spring Break NOLA and plantation tour trip. We wanted to take the girls to a "nice" dinner. When we arrived the Host and Hostess looked at our party with dread, but we were seated. Our waiters, where fantastic and attentaive, and the food was very good and... 更多
