Excellent 5 course dinner. Love beet salad. Jazz band is phenomenal. Mama's deserts are the best. Small restaurant with great ambience.
Website says they are open Monday - Thursday until 11pm. Sad to arrive and find a closed restaurant, lights off!! Tried to call and they said they would be closed Monday September 23 and reopening the next day. Yeah, does not bode well since we were there in May. Try elsewhere!!!
Went here for dinner with my daughter. The place is very small 5-4 people tables and 3-2 people tables. The upstairs can be used for a banquet. The owner was very nice and charming. We ordered the Slavic sampler appetizer and it was very, very highly recommend. For dinner I got the chicken Kiev it was good but the sauce... 更多
We were looking for a place to have dinner before going to a nearby play, and decided to go here. We had not been here for many years. We easily got a table, and had a very pleasant dinner. My husband loved the goulash, and I enjoyed my chicken Kiev. Best of all was the live trio playing/singing soft jazz... 更多

September 20 was my birthday, we put money away so I could have a nice birthday dinner. We decided on Ze Mean Bean because I... 更多
We ate there 5 Sept 2014 the night before we got married. We had made the arrangements in June. The food was awesome plus this is where the locals go and we are all about that. They serve Eastern European dishes. Sauerkraut ,sausage, great hearty dishes. Plus there are seafood dishes, which is what had. And forget about the specialty... 更多
This recent visit has told me not to return,Most of the menu items were not available. Most of the wine selections were not available. Salads were fresh and good. Meals (four different items ordered) were perfunctory (read: microwaved). Service was, at best, adequate, considering the place was empty at 7:00 pm. The Irish guitar singer was totally boring and intrusive.
Ze Mean Bean in Fells Point is the best Eastern European restaurant in Baltimore, we think. The pierogies are to die for. Prices are reasonable, service is fine, and there's even live music some times, if that's what you like. So if Polish or Hungarian is what you are looking for, Ze Mean Bean is where you need to go.
