So glad we stopped. Delicious, healthy and reasonably priced Turkish food in a cozy setting with very friendly service on the Upper East Side. Can't wait to come back for dinner! Photo is Turkish mixed vegetables with yogurt sauce:
Fresh, well-prepared, good-quality food. It's plain- someimes to a fault- but always healthy and authentic..I'd be glad to see some more adventurous dishes. It can be noisy when crowded at dinner, and it's surprisingly pricey.
A restaurant that I never favored, but I gave it another chance because of its convenient location. Glad I did! Our foursome left very happy thanks to several things. It was quiet, it was pleasant, and everyone was extremely happy with their appetizers and entrees. Three of us ordered the shrimp kebabs and raved. I ordered my usual Mixed Grill... 更多
We ate here because it is very near the 92 Street Y where Jazz in July is presently being presented. A small, modest place that filled up with other jazz lovers, it offers very good Turkish food and pleasant service. The bar makes good cocktails as well. I was thrilled to find they offer manti, beef dumplings in yogurt sauce,... 更多
I have lived in Turkey for a number of years, and the food at Peri Ela is the best I have ever had. Amazing quality and amazing service. Reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend.
After enjoying lunch at Beyoglu a day earlier we ventured uptown in search of another Turkish restaurant. Peri Ela was not a disappointment. Located not far away from Cooper Hewit Museum, certainly worth visiting, after renovation, we ended up in this pleasant, small restaurant. Borek and eggplants appetizers were superb, beef dumplings so, so and lamb kebab satisfactory. Wine list... 更多
We've been to Peri Ela several times over the past several months. Just the right combination of intimate size, small bar, great food, small menu allowing the chef to concentrate on a few dishes, a very friendly wait staff, all in a quiet neighborhood. Not ownership's fault, but the last time there was a very noisy group in the corner.... 更多
Small friendly little restaurant serving great Turkish food - just unfortunate we were the only diners on a Saturday lunchtime - the passers by didn't know what they were missing! Cigar borek, fried eggplant, kofte and lamb with okra were all excellent and the fresh Turkish bread was to die for! We had a bottle of very good Turkish rose,... 更多
When we first passed this place on Lexington & 90th Street we thought it was a typical French brasserie with its wood-panelled walls. It turned out to be a Turkish restaurant, offering lots of hot and cold meze and a wide range of fish and meat kebabs. The place is small, thus tables are a little close together, but the... 更多
This is a good Turkish restaurant near the 92nd Street Y with something for everyone...meat, fish, etc. The lamb shish was very good, and the octopus salad was excellent. Different mezes were all good. The room is very nice, but the noise level was extremely high (perhaps because of the tin ceiling?) until the crowd thinned out a bit. With... 更多
