A friend and I stopped at the Thirsty Monk for a beer. We sat at the upstairs bar - we had to order our beer at the bar, but a server did come by later and we ordered an appetizer. Service at the bar was slow-ish. And there was a promotion advertised all over that said "Buy a beer, keep... 更多
If you are staying in downtown Asheville you don't have to travel far for some great beers and really good bar food. The place is a good size with a first floor entry and a second floor basement (basement has an old style pub feel to it) and a basement. The bar top sits an adequate amount of people and... 更多
Christine, our bartender was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable about all of the beers and the area. She let us know some things to do in the area, as well as other places we were going on vacation. We were in the bottom bar and had a great time. For great beer, service and a really good time I... 更多
If you are doing the Asheville Beer Scene (or even if you're not!) this is a great place to stop and sample some craft beers (don't be looking for run-of-the-mill Bud or Miller here!). Be aware there are two floors of beer offerings, with the Belgian beers down in the stone lower basement (and where the restrooms are located) and the... 更多
We stopped by The Thirsty Monk while bar/brewery hopping around Asheville one day. They definitely had an interesting selection of beer! The bartender let me try two of the ciders (one with spicy jalapeño flavoring and another ginger champagne cider), but we ended up getting the Great Divide Yeti and enjoyed it. I wish there was more outdoor seating -... 更多
Asheville is a beer town. Lots of breweries and bars and just lots of... beer. But I expected this place to top them all. They only had about 15-20 beers on tap. I know, I know that sounds like a lot, but it really isn't for a place that touts itself as a Belgian Beer hall, especially when most of... 更多
We stopped in at the Thirsty Monk for one beer and stayed for two. The beer selection was very good and the bartender knew his beers and what to recommend. We wanted to stop at a lot of the downtown spots for a drink, but found the Thirsty Monk fun and inviting! We will be back when we return to... 更多
Wide range of local craft beers, friendly and knowledgeable servers, chilled out albeit slightly scruffy vibe. I could sit here and drink beer all day.
I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life. One of the reasons Asheville is my favorite city is the friendly, open people I have encountered there. This was NOT the case at the Thirsty Monk. My friend was visiting from Illinois and she asked about a southern beer she had never heard of (understandably) and the bartender... 更多
Sampled many a beer here. Great casual atmosphere. Incredibly friendly service. Pub fare was OK. If I lived in Asheville, I'd probably hang out here....a LOT
The bartenders are very knowledgeable about beer. They asked the right questions and guided our decisions on what beers to try. The music was great. Great local spot.
